A bit about Venetian Plastering

Venetian plastering is an ancient method created by the Romans and uses lime plaster. If you’ve ever been to Italy and admired the stunning architecture, you’ll have seen Venetian plaster without realising it.

The colour is mixed in with the plaster and doesn’t fade so that you can create an almost limitless range of finishes. Also, lime plaster is non-toxic and hypoallergenic, so it is safe to use in any environment. In addition, the plaster is breathable, so it is naturally mould, and mildew resistant as water evaporates from the surface.

Yes, it is more expensive than traditional wet plaster and needs special training to apply it correctly. But when you want luxury, there’s no better option. We have the training, knowledge, and experience to help you make the right choice.

No, it takes longer as it’s made up of multiple layers, and each one has to dry thoroughly before the next one is applied.

Not if applied correctly, allowing time for each layer to cure properly. As it is made of multiple layers, the finished surface is solid and hard-wearing. However, if there is any movement in the house, then cracks are possible.

You can, but why would you? Coloured pigments are added to the plaster during mixing so that the finished result will look stunning. However, you can paint it if you really have the urge.
